Let There Be Light

Sunday night there were rolling black outs on Wilmington Island which is not uncommon but the funny thing was it wasn't even storming yet. My boyfriend happens to live out there and he said that it was so dark outside you couldn't even see the hand in front of your face. When I spoke to his mom about it she said that in her whole time living here, which has been over 26 years, she had never seen anything like it. The blackouts ranged from all the way to the bridge to get to Tybee Island until Victory Drive. I mean there have been some pretty bad storms here including Hurrican Floyd which hit in 1999 and yet nothing like this she said she had ever witnessed. Curious as to what happened I turned to the news the next day on the Savannah Morning News website. They stated that the power was out due to the storm which seems off considering it hadn't even started raining yet according to Georgia Power. And now when I tried to post the link to the article on here it is no longer on their website. Would it kill somebody to let us know what really happened that night because I for one am quite interested.

  1. I wonder what the best way would be to get news about things like this out there. It's an interesting problem -- we would like followup news on things like this, but it would hardly be worth a separate news report. Or would it?
